1947: The Vision Begins It started with a vision. The late Sulaiman S. Olayan founded GCC as his first enterprise. His foresight led to securing the exclusive distributorship of Kenworth Trucks from the USA, introducing heavy-duty logistics to the region.
The Tapline Project GCC’s capabilities were quickly tested. We secured our first major contract with Bechtel to manage the trucking and supply services for Aramco’s Trans-Arabian Pipeline (Tapline). This mammoth project, linking Saudi oil wells to the Mediterranean, cemented GCC’s reputation for reliability in the toughest environments.
1949: Expansion to Kuwait Building on our success, we expanded beyond borders. In 1949, we established the General Transportation & Equipment Company (GTE) in Kuwait, becoming the exclusive dealer for Cummins engines and expanding our regional footprint.
Present Day: Market Leadership Today, GCC is a diversified market leader. We hold exclusive rights for Scania, Atlas Copco, and 12+ other global brands. We continue to evolve, embracing renewable energy and sustainable transport to support Saudi Vision 2030.
